Get Yourself On The [b] List

Hey! Artists! Over here!

Whew! What a group of lookers!

Whew! What a group of lookers!

Last year's [b] list exhibition was such a blast that we are once again teaming up with Keimyung University to bring you our second annual [b] list exhibition, and we want your submissions.

The theme for this year’s show will be Circumstantial Identity. We chose this broad topic so that artists can interoperate the idea in many different ways. The work that you submit should have some connection to this theme. The only requirement for submission is that you currently live in Korea and still plan to be here in September. The deadline for submissions is May 1st.

The [b]racket team will be selecting about 20 artists to feature at this year's [b] list . Each artist can submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. If your work is selected you will be notified the first week of May. Additionally, all submissions will be considered for inclusion in [b]racket magazine, so you might be contacted to be featured in a future issue. Double whammy!

If your work is selected, it should be professionally presented and framed (when appropriate) for the exhibition. All mediums will be considered. Last year's event featured an installation piece, video art, drawings and paintings, photography, and even a performance piece to start things off.

Last year's [b] list really got people talking with national newspaper coverage and over 150 people in attendance. I'm sure this year will be even bigger. I'm already so excited (and maybe planning my outfit in my head. Maybe.)!

I hope this call for work gets you thinking about what Circumstantial Identity means to you, and inspires you to create and submit some amazing stuff. We can't wait to see what you've got!

All submissions should be sent to our words editor, Sybille Cavasin at S.cavasin@hotmail.com

Submission Guidelines:
• 1-3 high quality images (pdf, psd, ai, 300dpi.)
• An artist’s statement explaining how your work fits the theme Circumstantial Identity.
• A document with titles, mediums and dimensions of your work.
• You must be in Korea during the exhibition dates in September.
• Submissions must be received by May 1st.

Also, please include titles, mediums, and dimensions for each piece that you submit

Do you know an artist who would be interested in submitting their work? Share this post with them or invite them to the event on facebook.
